I have been working on this one for awhile. It is inspired by my friend's costumes, my costumes and memories about Halloween in New England. I think I used hot press watercolor paper. I really liked it.

I just came back from Torrington Health and Rehab and the residents are working hard on illustrating a children's story I wrote. It is about the chipmunks in their beautiful courtyard. This little guy's name is Armando and is being painted by a lady named April. I can't wait to put all their paintings into book format!!

The rooster above is an oil painting I did as a gift for a family friend. I will soon offer animal paintings/pet portraits. Let me know if you are interested in one!

So I am in the process of getting my prerequisites done so I can go back to grad school fall 2010 for art therapy. For now I am working different recreation and art therapy jobs. This is my logo for my personal studio. I am hoping to get more work done here then my own house! What do you think? Rockwell is my little guy of course! So I'm working on a whole new layout for the site. What do you think? I have to go to work in a few minutes. I think I will try some new watercolor techniques with the residents. This humidity is making me exhausted lately. I will relax tonight.

Apparently, there was a case of swine flu in Southington this past week. I had drawn this quick illustration about a month ago when the swine flu craze was happening. I also had a cold twice in April! I had forgotten all about this drawing until I opened up this sketchbook the other day. I would like to decide the bear character names this week so stay tuned!

I've been working on this one for awhile. I think the warmer weather inspired this one. And salad. It is done with watercolor, watercolor crayon, ink, and chalk pastel. I love summer picnics. I hate the bugs though.

I've been working on this mall scene for awhile here. Can you find Gems clipping Sandy's toenails? Can you find Mr. Woode the owl at the ATM? How about the bird with the bling bling?

I love creating busy scenes. I have another one I need to scan of a hair salon. Today I worked in Torrington at Torrington Health and Rehab. What wonderful people I worked with! We did some watercolor and I cannot wait to go back. I'm getting to know CT pretty well.

Hello! This past week we rescued a dog and adopted him as our new pet. He is a bagel (beagle/basset hound mix). We named him Reilly. So I added a ton of characters onto the characters page. They are mostly rough sketches. You can look at them and look through my illustrations to find them!! I sketched the ones that I constantly draw throughout my artsy world. See them here.

I just added a new character, Mr. Woode to my characters page under artwork. Go check out his description. This weekend I visited Joe and went out for Kristina's birthday in Willimantic. I also went out with Nicole for Chinese- Mr. Woode cannot have it. I was so exhausted today but I had cake with my family. My birthday is in 3 days. I've been listening to Lady Gaga, I love her music! OK Id love to write more but my computer is being slow. I really need to remember to sign my work more!

Good evening. I got home from the SCBWI conference in NYC around supper hour. I'm not really interested in football, so I spent most of my time online and researching air fares for the LA conference. I just loved this one this weekend! It was helpful, fun, and I met so many nice people. I've been wanting to go to CA forever. Especially after all the drama shows ive watched like the OC. I'll have to scan some of the doodles I did during the speeches. The authors/illustrators were so inspirational. I need to go to sleep. Oh I thought I'd thow these in here. This goofy fish was going to be my guestbook entrance but he didn't make the final cut. Instead it was the tall goofy man with the big nose. This little guy below "jusht wanchs to know where the Harry Potter secshun ish at Block Buster."

Today I went to lunch with the Southington Care crew. We had a nice meal at the Italian place downtown. Then I went to work and painted ornaments with the residents.

I think I will start to use this blog again for my artwork. I will probably post more but we will see. Today I went to a huge craft fair at the Aqua turf and met an author/illustrator who self published her books. She was very sweet and talked to me for awhile about her publishers. Tomorrow I am sending out 10 packages to different editors, publishers and art directors about my book. We'll see how this goes. It has taken me about two months to get them all together. Now I must spend more money on the stamps.
